Are We a Thankful Nation?

The president, in his Thanksgiving, weekly address, said,

Like millions of Americans, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will spend the day eating great food, watching a little football, and reflecting on how truly lucky we are.

In this address the president never mentioned God or his thankfulness to God for the blessings our country enjoys. 43 presidents before him didn't have a problem acknowledging that America is blessed of God and the thankfulness that we share as Americans for God's provisions. We have had some godless presidents in the past, but none that would not express thanksgiving to. None, that is until Obama became president.

First Observation: Thankfulness toward God shows humility and helps to make God and His word the moral compass of one's soul. An unthankful speech by Obama points out his narcissism and underscores how wanting his moral compass actually is.

Second Observation: Obama's lack of thankfulness is a wake call to the rest of our society. On a day that used to be a simple getting together of family and friends to reflect on God's goodness and mercy toward us has become commercialized to the point that stores open late Thanksgiving night in an extended Black Friday event. No longer is God's mercy and grace toward us the focus of our minds and our conversation. The conversation now centers on great buys on electronics, sporting goods supplies, and how we hope to be by lucky enough to get some good deals. If we are lucky, we can join the president in our giving of thanks to luck.

Are Mormons Christians?

Much has been made the past few days about some interviews that Robert Jeffress has given in which he has stated that Mormons are not Christians and that Mormanism is a cult. The fact of the matter is that Pastor Jeffress is 100% correct in this matter. Mormonism has long been held by Christian theologians to be a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; a cult.
What makes Mormonism a cult of Christianity?

1. Mormons are Polytheists, believing in more than one God. The Bible clearly says, "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord". This is found in Deuteronomy 6:4. A belief in more than one God is a direct assault on the person of God Himself which is the very foundation of the Christian faith. A Christian could not believe such thing as this belief makes one a non-Christian and a cultist.

2. Mormons deny the virgin birth of Jesus which is central to Christianity. God takes great measures to let us know that the incarnation of Jesus was the product of God, who is a spirit, placing the incarnate Christ within Mary's womb. Let me reference Matthew 1:18 and Matthew 1:23 respectively.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 1:18
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23

Mary was a virgin until after the birth of our Lord and Savior. Any deviance from this is non-Christian in substance and is a lie from the pit of Hell itself. Again, a Christian could not believe such a thing and the Mormon belief that our god was a man on another planet is not just extra biblical, but is anti biblical. In Morman belief, our god followed the laws of that planet's god and became a god himself, then took with him a goddess from that other planet and had spirit children of whom Jesus was the first and Satan was the second. We are then all spirit children of this god and are just floating around waiting for a body. Again this is anti Biblical and is from the very pit of Hell. Again a Christian would not and could not believe that Jesus was the product of a sexual relationship between god the father and some goddess. This teaching is simply anti Biblical.
3. Mormons teach that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross is not suffecient in and of itself to save a person. The 3rd Article of the Mormon faith reads,

We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

I am trying to be kind here, but either you believe in Christ's atoning death, or you believe that we are atoned by our obedience to laws and ordinances. To believe in both is an impossibility and the 3rd Article of Faith of the Mormon Church is an oxymoron in that atonement by Christ's sacrificial death on the cross and atonement by good works are contradictory. If a person puts his or her faith totally and completely, as is needed for salvation, in what Jesus did at the cross then there is no room for salvation by works. If a person puts any credence in salvation by works then the blood of Jesus is trampled upon and made less important or not important at all.
There are denominations and independant churches that meet the criteria for orthodoxy who teach a works based salvation. What sets the Mormon Church aside from these churches and denominations and classifies Mormonism as a cult is the belief in many gods and the denial of the virgin birth of Jesus.
What is saddening to me is that many theologians lack the courage or the fortitude to,

earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.

This faith, as Jude writes to saints in 67 - 70 AD, we are to contend for, is the faith which was once delivered. The faith had been delivered. Jude was not looking for the prophet Joseph Smith to complete the faith. The faith was once delivered. The faith was delivered not by prophets or angels or crack pots with divining rods, but the faith was delivered by Jesus Christ.

Earnestly contend is to defend as with a punch or a hit. Literally we are to defend our faith so ably as to hit or punch verbally. This doesn't mean to belittle the person to whom you are talking. It does, however mean, that we do not change what the scripture says to get along with society. Mormonism has long been thought of as a cult and this recent longing of "evangelicals" to include Mormons and their doctrine under the umbrella of Christianity does nothing to advance the cause of Christ, shows an unwillingness to contend for the faith, and will ultimately water down the true Gospel of Christ.
Pastor Jeffress is to be applauded for his unabashed defense of Christ and his cross, scripture, and the faith once and for all delivered.

Some pundits and politicians alike are asking Rick Perry to disavow or repudiate Pastor Jeffress.
In the first place, Rick Perry is not a member of Dallas First Baptist Church and Jeffress is not his pastor.
Second, Pastor Jeffress was asked a theological question which Mitt Romney, John Huntsman, Bill Bennett among others, have politicized.

Romney asked for the repudiation of Pastor Jeffress, meanwhile he will not repudiate his Mormonism while claiming to be a Christian.

John Hunstsman called Jeffress a moron, while Bill Bennett called the good pastor a bigot. Since when did John Hunstsman, the RINO from Utah become smart enough to call anyone a moron?

Bill Bennett should know better as he used to be an actual conservative. Evidentally he never received the memo ten years ago that he is no longer significant in any way politically and is certainly not thought to be a religious leader.

Exit Thought: In America today we need less talking heads with nothing leaking from their head but hot air. In America today, especially in Christ's church, we need more people with discernment and less attacking of those who are courageous enough to speak on evil and goodness and more encouragment instead. Keep up the good work Pastor Jeffress. Many in American churches thank God for you and those like you daily in our prayers.

He Still Speaks To Us Today

In Michael Reagan's book, The New Reagan Revolution, Michael recounts the great impromptu speach that his father gave at the 1976 Republican Convention.
Michael, in describing the speech says,

My father's convention speech could be delivered today without changing a word. Line by line, every principle he proclaimed is as valid today as it was then. Why? Because even though times may change, principles do not.

Please listen to this great speech and relive or for the first time, experience the great orator and the greatness of the mind of Ronald Reagan.

Exit Thought: Who among the Republican candidates for President of the United States will clearly and passionately expound the truth of liberty? Who will tell it like it is and not try to be everything to all people and simply garner the vote of those who believe in our founding father's dream of America? The person who will do this, will beat Obama handily and stop Michelle's fantasy world tour.

The Case Against Newt

Though it is way to early to endorse a candidate for the presidential campaign in 2011, it is not too early to weed some of the choices out. As great as Newt Gingrich has been for the Republican Party and for conservatives, he is one that appears to be heading for an early weeding out. While I have the utmost respect for what he did for conservatives in the mid '90s, I do not like his leftward lean since he left office after an affair was made public. The left likes to compare Newt's dalliance with that of Bill Clinton, as both had affairs with interns. The big difference is that one was soiling the blue dress of a 19 year old in the oval office and then lied to a grand jury, which is a felony.
As far as sin goes the two are equal; both were cases of infidelity and were a breaking of wedding vows. Mr. Gingrich says that he is past this now and that he lives up to his marriage vows with his current wife. Due this past of infadelity in marriage, Newt brings a lot of baggage to the table as a candidate for the GOP. GOP voters tend to be values voters, as well as fiscal, and being strong on the defense of the country.
I don't know about Newt's private life and that is going to be difficult for those voters that are looking at him as their favorite candidate. He says that he is a penitant sinner and the indiscretions are behind him. For me, I really don't need to know or guess about Newt's private life because Newt has shown a willingness to throw conservatives, and conservatism in general, under the bus. On George Stephanopoulos' show on January 13th 2008, Gingrich said that the era of Reagan is over. His exact quote was, "We are at the end of the Reagan era. We're at a point in time when we're about to start redefining -- as a number of people started talking about, starting to redefine -- the nature of the Republican Party, in response to what the country needs".
So, what Gingrich was saying is that the party needs to distance itself from Reaganism, which is the same thing as conservatism. The party needs to wet a finger, stick it up in the air to see which way the wind is blowing, and to be what the country wants. That is NOT conservatism; that is NOT what conservatives do or will ever do. It is liberals who are blown by the drifting winds just as it is conservatives who believe that right and wrong never change no matter what direction the wind blows. Even in swirling winds, the true North of a compass is constant. For conservatives, Reagan is that compass always pointing us to our true North. His era isn't over unless this country's era is over, as our country was founded by men who shared Reagan's love of liberty and hatred for fascism and statism.
Newt's campaign began with him having to defend a couple of positions he had taken in the past. The first was his position on a mandate for health insurance. In 1993, this is what Newt said in 1993:

I am for people, individuals–exactly like automobile insurance–individuals having health insurance and being required to have health insurance, and I am prepared to vote for a voucher system which will give individuals, on a sliding scale, a government subsidy so we insure that everyone as individuals have health insurance.

In Newt's defense in this matter, even the Heritage Foundation came out in favor of this single payer idea, before finding it to be a socialistic program once it was discussed further when the Democrats tried to pass it as HilaryCare. A problem with it though, is that Newt will not admit that he was wrong, but now says,

I agree that all of us have a responsibility to pay- — help pay for health care. I've said consistently we ought to have some requirement that you either have health insurance or you post a bond.

So Newt has no problem with the unconstitutional notion of the Feds forcing all citizens to purchase something.

The second position that Newt has been forced to defend is his view on man-made climate change and the belief that government needs to get involved through cap and trade. He made a commercial with Nancy Pelosi where it was stated that the government needs to force people to use clean, alternative power. He also said to Frontline in 2007,

I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there’s a package there that’s very, very good. And frankly, it’s something I would strongly support.

Of course mandatory carbon caps and a trading system are Cap and Trade, which is a way the statists have decided to choose what consumers can buy instead of leaving that up to the consumer.

Exit Observation: Newt's main baggage is his departure from conservative principles, not the dalliances in his personal life. This is not spoken lightly as Newt is a past hero of the conservative movement who articulated these values brilliantly. Sadly, he seems to have left his conservative roots in an attempt to get along with the leftists in our government. Maybe he feels they will be more forgiving of shortcomings in his personal life.
It is sad to see the once great Newt be reduced to defending bad, leftist ideas.

Obama: You've Shown Us the Birth Certificate, Now Show Us the Pictures

Obama won't allow pictures of Osama Bin Laden's bloody corpse to be released because it would offend Al Quaeda terrorists. Well, the American people are upset that these pictures are not being released because we want to enjoy his demise of the old goat a bit more. We have seen the pictures of the other maggott infested terrorists that were killed along with him.

I haven't lost any sleep or my appetite because of seeing this pictures and doubt that anyone, other than Mrs. Bill Clinton has lost sleep over these examples of human debris. Mrs. Bill Clinton is seen watching the execution of the raid that ended Bin Laden's life with her hand over her mouth, obviously an allergic reaction to seeing America's enemies getting their just deserts. Never forget that she was the legal mind behind letting Obama go when the Sudan offered him up to us because we didn't have a legal case to indict him. Memo to weak kneed, America hating, terrorist loving Liberals: We don't indict rogue enemy combatants, including terrorists, we KILL them! At lease Obama didn't screw that part up.

It still amazes me that more concern is shown toward Islamo fascist terrorist's feelings than are shown for Christians by our fine Christian president, Barrak Hussein Obama.

Obama did recently give the OK to showing the flag draped caskets of our fallen soldiers so that he could have a photo op at Dover where he saluted the casket of a soldier for the cameras. This duplicity of showing fallen American soldiers who are fighting for America and for the freedom of millions of Muslims, but not showing the dead bodies of terrorists, is troubling and is the main reason some doubt Obama's citizenship. Obama appears to have more concern and care for Al Qaeda then he does for American Christians who are most like our country's founders. Negative mentions of Al Qaeda are few and far between, but to Obama it is evident that he holds Christians in contempt as he derides Christ's followers as those who are bitterly clutching our Bibles and guns.

Question: Is Obama the president of Al Quaeda or the United States of America? This is why some have a hard time believing that Obama is an American citizen; he doesn't think like an American. He sees everything from an outsider's, in this case a terrorist's, point of view.

Here Come the Food Police

I don't know about you, but when I think of the model of health, beauty, and wise eating, my mind instantly goes to the sleek, beautiful, America liking, (now that her husband is dictator for 4 years), Michelle Hussein Obama. Of course, I know her middle name isn't Hussein, but out of respect for her being the Imam's woman, it is rather fitting.

Due to her role as First Linebacker, (have you seen those shoulders?), the nation and yes the world is without its top super model. How the fashion world misses Michelle's dainty walks accross the stage with those muscular shoulders bulging and her hips taking up the entire cat walk.
Between picking ribs from her teeth and lecturing women on the use of her breasts, (I figured the breasts to be more a part of woman's body than an unborn baby is), this gangly creature has the nerver to lecture us about what we should not eat. By the way, is she wearing her bra on the outside of her clothes, or is that a breast belt?

Power grabs by the government seem to always begin with a sob story or two about the children and how they are affected. Tyrannical people and governments are always built by hypocrits that claim to care more and know more than the populace. Never mind that Michelle Hussein Obama is very anti life when it comes to a child coming into the world that is an inconvenience in any way to an already born woman. She and she alone knows what is best for us and our children. After all she has devoted her time, in between all those vacations, for 18 long and gruelling months into studying how she can wrestle more power from the individual and give Washington power over our gardens, farms, produce departments, plates, forks, spoons and knives. What a glorious person she is to care so much for you, me, and above all the children that escape the abortionist's knife.

Exit Observation: Michelle would do better with being seen to care for children if she didn't have a husband who defends abortion up until and even during child birth.
